Hello All, I want to buy a meat grinder, electric of course! What kind do you use??? I don't have a stand mixer that will accept an attachment so I need to buy a grinder. I am willing to spend up to $150-$175 before shipping. Thanks!

I use the Kitchenaid attachment grinder to make sausages and extruded pasta. It's very nice and handy, especially if you're limited in counter-space.

Dr. Lisa has addressed her preferences in meat grinders on her site, catinfo.org, and previously on the read only old board (see link above). Use the search function to find some of her comments.

I'd also suggest looking at online reviews. I have a very old (50+ years) hand cranked grinder and it works great. A couple of years ago, I picked up an identical second one at a garage sale for $3!!

Hello! thanks for all the input, I was skimming Dr Lisa's page this morning and couldn't find it, I knew she recommended one but I thought I would ask you all too! thanks again!! I am going to search ebay right now!

I was going to add that a brand new Tasin 108 is currently priced at $150. That is a great deal on a great grinder.

like I said, I have had mine for 4 years, maybe a little more and I have made #30 every 2-3 weeks and it is going strong. cannot beat that price unless someone is selling used but the S/H will be high
