Found these warnings:
Anti-diabetics
In rare cases, diabetic patients receiving an ACE inhibitor (including Benazepril) concomitantly with insulin or oral anti-diabetics may develop hypoglycemia. Such patients should therefore be advised about the possibility of hypoglycemic reactions and should be monitored accordingly.
Hyperkalemia
In clinical trials, hyperkalemia (serum potassium at least 0.5 mEq/L greater than the upper limit of normal) occurred in approximately 1% of hypertensive patients receiving Benazepril. In most cases, these were isolated values which resolved despite continued therapy. Risk factors for the development of hyperkalemia include renal insufficiency, diabetes mellitus, and the concomitant use of potassium-sparing diuretics, potassium supplements, and/or potassium-containing salt substitutes, which should be used cautiously, if at all, with Benazepril (see Drug Interactions).

O
ther (causal relationships unknown)
Clinically important changes in standard laboratory tests were rarely associated with Benazepril administration. Elevations of uric acid, blood glucose, serum bilirubin, and liver enzymes (see WARNINGS) have been reported, as have scattered incidents of hyponatremia, electrocardiographic changes, leukopenia, eosinophilia, and proteinuria. In U.S. trials, less than 0.5% of patients discontinued treatment because of laboratory abnormalities.

Carl,
You are a True Doll!!! tytyt for taking the time to find this information for her/us- I will make sure she sees this. Could the shot area have anything to do with this as well? She is shooting by the hind leg I believe.

That +8 looks good. I wonder if she is getting slow absorption due to the shot location? Has she always shot there?

Carl

Carl,
Since the first couple of days of insulin which she shot in the scruff, she has been shooting from the mid back to hind quarters as she says she read somewhere that the scruff does not have a lot of blood circulation??

I don't know about the scruff circulation vs. other spots. But if she's been doing the same location, then that tosses my theory out the window. I was trying to understand the rise at +4. Not an "inverse" curve I don't think, but we'll know more if she can check once before PMPS. Just in case he's not rising.
