My fourteen yr old cat was diagnosed and I am going to buy the home test to test his BG. My Vet hasn't responded to this question yet. Do any of you know the "average" normal BG level or the range he should be in?

Thank You

On a human meter most of my civies run between 40 to 75, but normal range is considered to be from 40 - 120 on a human meter....or 70 - 150 on a pet caliberated.

And a diabetic cat who is regulated on insulin is often in the 200s at preshot time, 100s or below at nadir. We worry when a diabetic cat on insulin is in the 40s and below, and intervene with higher carb food or honey, if necessary, to prevent a hypo.
