What is considered a good drop at nadir? Advice please.

In general, how many points should BG drop at nadir; in other words, what is a good drop? My vet said Lantus is a gentle insulin and that we're not looking for huge plunges, more a steady line but low enough so the kitty is in good numbers most of the day. Can someone elaborate and explain that better for me? Did I understand right? He's on vacation now or I'd call and ask! Thanks.

It kinda depends on how close you are to their ideal dose. And which protocol, But about 20% over 6 hours in low numbers and about 100 pts in higher numbers.
