I am thinking it means something good. I've just been on a roller coaster since Bobs was diagnosed back in the spring. Poor appetite, not regaining her weight back, just not being her old self again.
It seems like we turned a corner when we started testing at home and putting her exclusively on wet Friskies. The change was immediate- appetite improved and she started acting more like her old self. And no more shots.
I've been testing throughout the day before and after meals.She is consistently in the mid 100s
She has even been playing and meowing this week.
Yesterday her appetite jumped and she went from eating half a can at each of her 3 feedings to eating the entire can yesterday morning and about 2/3 mid day and evening. But she slept all day yesterday and has been today. It isn't a "sick " kind of sleep- just seems to be more like" my tummy is full and napping feels so good". She comes when I call her( when she wasn't feeling well she wouldn't) and these last two days has even been jumping on the bathroom counter for her BG check I can do by myself. We started out with my husband making a Bobbie burrito with a bath towel and holding her.Her ears have "learned to bleed" all in all I feel so much better.
I feel like we have turned a corner in all this. The only thing that worries me is the sleeping yesterday and today. Should I be worried about it?- maybe I worry too much she just came strolling in looking for her midday meal a few hours early.
3 more days of testing and then we plan to call the vet and make an appt to talk with him about where to go from here. I have a feeling he will be surprised at what we are doing and how educated and proactive we have become in caring for Bobbie.
All in all I feel like I have my girl back.
