Tiggers little brother Blu is about 10 yrs old. He has mild cardiomyopathy (not enough to treat or even change his diet). And he is a little on the chonky side, though we safely brought his weight down from 15 to 12 pounds over the past year, he prob should be under 10. He was just eating FF cause Tigger was. Now with the CKD we had to find lower phos foods for Tigger and Blu does not love them to say the least. He’ll eat Pate, shreds, chunks, poultry, beef, fish, pine cones, leaves, shoe laces, paper etc (it’s never a dull moment with his pica lol). He also gets dry food as a treat only. But what should I be looking for nutrition wise? Before FD struck both boys ate EVO wet but the company has changed.

I have 3 cats, 1 hyper t, 1 diabetic and ckd and another ckd, I just started them back on whole earth duck cans, they also have other flavors, sometimes I have to feed the ckd cats away from the hyper t cat, also I’ve started the ckd cats on a raw diet, www.foodfurlife.com you mix it with raw ground meat
The whole earth is low in carbs and phosphorus if you prefer canned

My “regular” cat had idiopathic cystitis, which meant a wet food or raw diet is best. Rather than cater to different diets, I fed the same food to both. That way I didn’t have to worry when Neko pushed him away from his dish. According to the catinfo website, a low carb wet or raw food is good for all kitties. I also fed raw food most of the time. We have some great local products, or I used the FoodFurLife premix for all.

our barncats basically eat a raw diet -- whatever critters they catch and care to eat --they get a small supplemental feeding of Costco's own brand kibble, but that's more like humans taking a vitamin pill while still eating a balanced diet --

not feasible to feed them wet or canned food or purchased raw food, the bees and wasps would take over, they live in an open-sided barn; it would also attract medium size predators (coyotes, bobcats, foxes), not to mention feral dogs and cats and who knows what all else

would be completely different if they were house cats -- however one is still essentially wild, the other does not want to be confined anywhere, and will approach only me
