Hi! :bighug:
After trying to fix constipation for 17 days or so, Tux's BG seem back in normal! :):cat:
Thank you @Bobbie And Bubba for recommendation for Kefir. Tux loves licking it and it has been giving him good BM.
Then Tux is getting tired of Kefir. Now I need to find more ways to help constipation.

-I have been giving Miralax but I have no idea if it's helping.
-In a site (for human health) a doctor was saying that Probiotics actually wipes out good bacteria, don't take. So I am not sure.
-Tux gets tired of pumpkin very quickly.
-Tux loves fish oil but it seemed increasing his BG.
-Tux doesn't like PetAlive Natural Moves at all. He gives me "Why are you poisoning me?" look.
.

What do you give or what do you do to regulate your fur babies BM?

I used to put about two teaspoons of baby food squash in Cinco's breakfast every morning, and it seemed to help keep him regular. He didn't mind it a bit.

Tux, good job bringing your BGs down, but if you didn't climb so high you'd have less far to fall. Just sayin'.... ;)

Davidson's brother Harley gets Laxadose (similar to Miralax) every day, 1/8 tsp every morning and evening feeding (he's 8 lbs) and it works but will take a week or two to get into the system. If he misses a day his poop starts to get hard, or he doesn't poop. So you'll know if he's pooping it's working. The correct amount is if his poop is firm, but soft so that it passes easily.........too much gives the runs, not enough they can't poop - so you'll be able to tell if it's working.

I've never heard anyone say this. I've heard the exact opposite. When you take an antibiotic, it wipes out the good and bad bacteria. So you are supposed to take a probiotic while you are taking an antibiotic to replace the good bacteria the antibiotic wipes out.

I hope you can find something that works for Tux. Sending prayers.

I agree with Carla. I've never heard anyone say that probiotics wipe out "good" bacteria. In fact, most of the kitty iBD sites recommend adding a probiotic (specifically S. boulardi) to an IBD cat's diet to help with diarrhea or a more general probiotic for gut health.

By the way, does anyone want PetAlive Natural Moves?
The bottle is nearly full, should be at least 55 capsules are in. EXD: 4/1/2020.
Tux wants to give to a sugar friend who likes them and who live in the U.S. :):cat:

Hi Kako! I've been offline for a while. Glad the kefir is helping! So far since I've started it , my boys take about 1 tbsp / day.

As far as the Natural moves, my boys hate it too , but if I put 1/8 tsp of a capsule in their food twice a day , I can get them to eat it. Any more than that, I have to sprinkle a bit of flortiflora to get them to eat.

Have you tried slippery Elm bark mixed with aloe Vera juice? Between all those things alternated through the day, I'm keeping Bubba moving.

Hi @Bobbie And Bubba ! Tux licks Kefir again. :cat: And maybe I love Kefir more than Tux. :woot:
Do you buy Lactose free or with Lactose? I got both, and so far we are taking Lactose free.

No, I haven't tried Slippery Elm with Aloe Vera juice. I've taken Slippery Elm candies for my throat, it smells like Chinese medicine.
Is Bubba OK with that smell?
I am growing an Aloe Vera plant. I thought about feeding Tux and searched.
► Aloe plants should not be eaten by pets.
► Aloe juice and gel are safe for pets. However, products containing ‘Aloes’ (extracted latex) are not.

What does it mean?

The aloe vera juice should be George's Aloe Vera Juice as it is fractionally distilled and better for their GI system. I get it on Amazon by the gallon.( no need to refrigerate after opening) There is no smell what's so ever, it taste like water. I add 1 tbsp. of it in his AM meal and then again in his PM meal. Also add one Tbsp of water.

For two other feeding I mix 1/4 tsp of SEB powder with 1/2 tsp of the George's AVJ and it mixes up to a thick paste. Then I heat up a couple tbsp. of water in the microwave and start thinning it out with the warm water ( I microwave the water for 30 seconds). You want it to be the consistency of gravy. Then I add that mixture to his food. He eats it all. Most cats like the sweetness of the SEB. Both my boys eat it.

ETA: add water with the AVJ

Slippery Elm capsules.Empty 1/2 cap of slippery elm int0 1/2 teaspoon of plain chicken baby food, & add water to make it liquid

The slippery elm will get thick, so don't put it in the cats food. I give it 2 X a day if my cat is having trouble with constipation. I use a feeding syringe.Other wise just once every other day. Works great.

Baby food from K-Mart, The other stuff from Amazon.

(oops, I didn't want the pics so large I don't know how to fix it?)

Good website about Slippery Elm.

HI Where do you get your feeding syringe from?? Amethyst has been giving me problems eating but she loves Baby Food Chicken and Gravy THanks:cat:

Is kefir something you mix with water or milk and it grows? I'm not getting the jist of this. I saw a "starter" product and you grow it.

Jerry battles with constipation as well. I give him 1/4 Miralax twice a day. Wondering if the slippery elm and the Georges Aloe Vera Juice might not be something I should try instead of the Miralax. He doesn't do bad but maybe a break from the Miralax. I already have the pets slippery elm in a liquid form on hand I used for my CKD cat just need to order the Juice. Jerry turns his nose up to most any new smell. He is tired of pumpkin and walks away if I even add just a little.
