What do you do if you aren't home at dose time?

We were thinking of going to dinner to celebrate birthdays and graduations, but may not be back till past insulin time. Would you give at a later time if within an hour or skip it till the next dose?

With any insulin, it's less of an issue to give a late shot than to shoot early, although since many cats do not get 12 hours of duration with Novolin, you have some flexibility. You can always shoot when you get home. The problem is tomorrow morning since ideally, you want to shoot 12 hours after you gave your PM dose. You could skip tonight's dose and be back on schedule tomorrow.

you can give it an hour late. your insulin is flexible with shot times since it usually wears off after about 6-8 hours.
