We've been doing well but

So Mister has been doing well in terms of his diabetes and he has put on a healthy amount of weight. We are fortunate so bless him.

But recently he's been very vocal. Nothing else really has changed. I decided to check his sugar and holly molly it was 340 :c!

He had a UTI which cleared with antibiotics and a little extra insulin to prevent a spike in his sugar due to the stress.

Is it normal for a cat to be ok one day and the next day all of a sudden experience high sugar levels?

He got his short acting insulin as well as his lantus (2 units each). I don't understand what's going on?

Help?!?

What was the BG the day before and when was it taken with respect to eating and shot?
What short-action insul and how much was given?
Has his thyroid level been checked recently? Howling is sometimes a symptom of hyperthyroidism.
