Afternoon all!

So I noticed that the Freshpet food depending on where I get it has two flavors:

Freshpet Select Tender Chicken with Crisp Carrots & Leafy Spinach

Freshpet Vital Grain Free Complete Meals Adult CafFood: Chicken, Ocean Whitefish & Egg

Soleil seems to only be interested in this brand wet food. Which I’m happy for considering how low in carbs they are.

Is it necessary to remove the recipe with the ocean whitefish because it’s seafood, or should this be okay with her diet?

Her numbers have been great, but she’s not latching on to a different wet food at all so I want to stick with what I know is working.

Not sure I know the answer but I'm curious to know, so I'd like to follow this thread.

One of our civvies is SO PICKY. He refuses most poultry or beef options and seems to only like mixes that contain fish or are primarily fish. I know fish every meal isn't ideal nutritionally, so I have been trying to mix a the fish varieties he likes with chicken/ turkey varieties, so that he is enticed enough to eat but isn't getting only fish. Maybe you could try mixing a bit?

The Freshpet isn’t just the Ocean Whitefish. It’s mixed in with the chicken and garden veggies. I tried to give her Sheba beef pate this morning but she turned her nose up. When I gave her the Freshpet, she didn’t hesitate. When I tried to mix some of the Freshpet with Sheba, she ended up ignoring the mix and the standalone Sheba and stuck with the Freshpet food.

I realized today that this food brand is a little confusing because on one hand there’s a Freshpet Vital Grain Free Chicken & Ocean Whitefish Recipe with Carrots, Eggs & Spinach. Which is a straight forward label and is only 8% carb per the list. But then there’s Freshpet Select Tender Chicken Recipe with Garden Vegetables. So I thought okay, this one is a different recipie because it doesn’t say anything about ocean whitefish. When you look at the back it says it has 12oz of chicken and chicken liver, 1.5oz of ocean whitefish, and 1.3oz of garden vegetables and eggs.

I’m concerned that maybe the fish is upsetting her stomach. But when I initially remembered this food line when trying to convert her to wet food from dry food, her first bag was the Freshpet Select from Target. For the longest time she didn’t vomit any bile. Then I picked up the Freshpet Vital Grain Free from PetSmart thinking they were the same thing and that’s when she started vomiting again. Maybe the Vital Grain Free has something different going on with it vs Freshpet Select? I checked the Freshpet site and it’s being listed as if they’re two totally different things, but flavor wise they’re the same. So I need to figure out if it’s because she’s getting fish in her diet daily, or if I need to stick with Freshpet Select over Freshpet Vital Grain Free.

Talk about another setback.
