Paw Lickin' Chicken

I read somewhere (!) here that these two are ok wet foods? I bought them.

Stubbie is in the low 400s at 4 hours. Any other information from anyone who knows canned?

Thank you! He is SICK of Merrick pates, although they are great. Both have some gravy, broth really, with the shreds.

Yes I think they are good ones. Just FYI most Weruva's are about 50% lower in calories than other pet foods so you will likely have to feed more.

I give Paw Lickin' Chicken as one of the foods in rotation with other to our cats, including Rosa the diet-controlled diabetic. So far, I haven't seen any negative effect on her BG levels from it - as far as I can tell it's very low in carbs (3%). Does he get chicken in any of his other foods and have any of those raised his BG levels too far?

I just bought those two chicken products and the cats eat the liquid and not the shreds. I am dumbfounded. It's not cheap or bad food. I think something else is going on here, as if the insulin isn't working any more. And that started after pancreatitis and herpes. He is over that, but the sugar. Yikes. Thanks, Manxcat and Ferndoc. Back to the drawing board. Troubled.

I wouldn't say it's the favorite food out of the ones I give here either - I bought it because it was on special offer. They eat it, but they don't go mad for it. The ones that seem to go down the best here are Wellness Core Beef Venison and Lamb, Max Cat Chicken Supreme and Max Cat Savory Duck - I thought I'd be safe enough with chicken because they can't get enough of the chicken supreme flavor, but they're so-so with the Weruva. I think it just goes to show that the quality of a food doesn't mean much if the cats decide they don't like it! All of ours were extremely happy with Friskies until I had to stop feeding it because of the phosphorus level - it's nowhere near as good quality, but there was something about it that they loved!

I notice your signature says you switched from Lantus to ProZinc - do you think that might be having an adverse effect on his BG levels?

my boys eat some weruva--we have to switch constantly:banghead:
you may want to check out Tiki- most are 0 carb
natures variety feline pride (mine won't eat instinct) (ritzy rabbit and titans tuna and daredevil duck are a hit in our house)
fancy feast classic variety
soulistic in gelee (again mine are not loving this)
mine are snubbing the wellness these days
stella and chewys freeze dried helps when they won't eat enough canned... they like almost all of them -beef chicken rabbit pheasant duck goose venison lamb...as close as you can get to raw ....when they refuse real raw:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Ugh - mine won't eat raw of any kind...apart from Pure Bites!! They're addicted to those. They wouldn't even eat raw when I had ferrets who needed raw meat - I tried them with everything the ferrets had then...rabbit, feeder mice, chicken, various organs...they'd sniff them and then walk away. And of course rabbit and mice should be their natural diet!!

We have to switch it up all the time too - some of the online places keep offering me a discount if I put in orders to be automatically refilled, but I just can't. They'll only ever eat anything apart from the 3 flavors for maybe a week or so at a time, then they want something different. They won't do Soulistic or Tiki at all - the Wellness Core is as good as it gets with them...not that they're picky or anything! :banghead:

Odd but I found mine liked the tiki gormet carnivour but not the regular tiki. He absolutely loved Weruva Cats in the kitchen Tutu Tango and La Isle Bonita. Both fish flavors though.
