We're back!

Hello again! Sissy and I have been away from the boards since April when Sissy went off the juice and was doing great. We noticed her appetite increasing several weeks ago and started doing some random checks. It was borderline high...but we've hit a few now that are up there...last week she had a fasting of 170 and tonight she had a fasting of 149. So, my question is this...we are moving. We started packing up the whole house last week and moved most of our stuff and will finish up tomorrow and Sunday and move into the new house. We know moving is super stressful so should I wait till we're good and settled to do a curve and start back on the juice? I realize that stress could be raising it right now, but her appetite was going nuts before we started packing.

Also a little update, when we were here last I was asking about her insane constant tremoring and shaking...it was NON stop. She had been on zofran and cyproheptadine for months because she wasn't eating at all...and very very picky with her food. The vet didn't think either of those would cause her symptoms so was leaning towards something neurological. I started weaning her off her meds and shortly after that her tremors and shaking stopped almost completely. She just has an occasional head bob now. Also..she stopped sleeping all the time and is up and about all the time. She's waking us up for food all hours of the day and night and driving us nuts and and messing with our sleep. lol She's always been a chunky monkey but had lost some weight but now she's chunking back up again.

Anyway, that's where we are at...sad that her numbers are creeping up but I know that we have great support here, so I know it will be okay.

Yeah, I'd wait until it's all over and she's had time to adjust to the new house. Her numbers aren't that high and since we know how cats can react to stress, that may be all that's going on. Cats absolutely despise changes in their routine and I can't imagine anything more stressful than everything being packed up to move.

"Yo Mom....where you going with my cat tree?...that's MINE!...where you going with that chair?....it's MINE!!.....where you going with that bed?...it's MINE!!".....LOL

My inclination would be that a vet is not an expert in drug interactions or even individual drug side effects. Next time, ask a pharmacist. Both cyproheptadine and Zofran (ondansetron) are human drugs. A pharmacist will have lots of resources to be able to tell you if what you were seeing was a side effect of one of the meds or a result of their interaction. If there's a vet school near you, it's also likely that they have veterinary pharmacists who could answer your question.
