I have come across some people who consider Wellness / Core wet food as good for diabetic cats.

I did the carb calculator on one of the options, and it had NO carbs at all!!! But it must have some, as some ingredients are potato, that carageen stuff, guar gum.

I see most of the other wet varieties contain sweet potato, carrot, peas, potato, blueberries...even though they are low carb (i think).

Any thoughts? I can actually buy this locally!!!

I buy the Wellness Core Canned Turkey and chicken with liver food for all my cats. It is 8% carb. I do not trust carb calculators. I go by the list on catinfo.org as Dr. Pierson gets as-fed values by calling the manufacturers.

I wish i could go by that amazing list, but in Australia for instance, the FF varieties that are good on the list, are full of cereal here! :(

My 6 cats would not touch the stuff even when they were begging for food. My friend inherited it for her cat who will eat it. So I'd say don't buy in bulk if you're going to try it. :)

I fed Wellness Grain Free Turkey Formula, Grain Free Beef & Chicken Formula, Grain Free Chicken Formula, and Wellness Core Grain Free Beef, Venison, Lamb along with several other brands/varieties for over 8 years. Click the tab in Alex's SS for a list of low carb - lower phosphorus food I fed. Except for when she was sick, she was tightly regulated.

You'll have to check to see if the ingredients are the same in your country as mine: Wellness Wet Cat Recipes.

Yes, the Australian and US recipes for the grain free are identical based on the websites.

Australia only has two Core grain free recipes though, whereas the US has a lot more.

Those foods in Alex's SS are not available here. We do have Friskies but it's only really junky dry food with the first ingredient being cereal.

Let me know if you end up getting some and how you go with it :) I am totally confused by what is best to feed him.

Just noticed that Dweezil is a Manx, so is Rupert!!

I am fortunate that all of my cats love this food and it does not have any effect on
Alska's bg. It is their snack food.
