Wellness Core - New Foods

Okay so this weekend I was in my local Petco picking up Wellness Core for 5 of my cats and Merrick B4 Grain for Frodo when I notice that Core is now caring some new varieties. They had a Turkey and Duck, Kitten and a Indoor formula. I started looking at the Indoor formula since it was saying lower in calories, which of course means more fiber but the only difference I can see between it and the regular Core is instead of Dried Ground Potato it has Pea Protien and Pea Flour. Is this a problem or not? What is everyone's thought on the Pea Protien & Flour??

Forgot to say I have been searching the internet for these new formulas but can not find anything, not even on the Wellness website.

Pea protein and flour have a different glycemic index, may be less likely to spike glucose levels, but your mileage may vary!

It completely depends on how much pea flour is in the food. A small amount won't effect BG, but a larger amount will. The only way to know for sure how much is in it is to call or email Wellness and get the as-fed values for these foods. Wellness is one of the companies that is very good about giving you the as-fed information.

Based on the previous core recipes, I would guess that the new flavors would be low carb.
