Do your sugar babies have stinkier poo than your civvies? My goodness, Lee's poo is so stinky!!! The other two are "normal' stinky, if that makes sense. They all eat the same food. I have been changing their food brands around, but now back to BFF. Could something else be wrong with her to create poo stink that's so bad it would peel paint? She didn't used to have such heinous smells.

TIA!

Some bacteria grow well in the GI tract. The vet can check on that as an infection may be keeping numbers more elevated. It may be helpful to give a probiotic of some sort, such as Forti Flora, Intelliflora, and so on. Those can be found on Amazon. If you go through our SHOP button above, any purchas can help support the message board.

Also, what color are the feces? Whatever damaged the insulin-producing cells of the pancreas may also have damaged the digestive enzyme-producing cells, and impaired that function. Incomplete digestion can result in very stinky poo, often of a loose quality, and can be pasty or pale in color. This is called exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI). It is treated with supplemental digestives at each meal. Another thing to discuss with the vet.

And, for tons of great info on the feline GI tract, go to Feline Constipation.
