My diabetic kitty, Socrates has lost 3 pounds in the past 4 days! He recently seems to be in remission with his blood sugar levels. I have been monitoring his glucose after his feedings
while also giving him mid day snacks of grilled chicken. Socrates recently lost his beloved brother & snuggle buddy-- a week ago, Saturday. Since that time I have noticed his glucose seems to have leveled out ( with no insulin needed). His litter box has been minimal in urine, he frequently drinks water from the faucet or his water fountain, his appetite has increased to where he seems to want to graze much more frequently. I'm SO confused!!!!! I haven't spoken to the vet about him since having to put his brother to sleep, due to the pain of that day. Should I be very worried?? He does not seem to be in any pain or showing any signs of confusion. Actually, other than the first few days of his loss, he seems quite alert & his normal self!! I can't understand why he would be losing weight!
