Oh no! His stool is already so stinky. Keeps paws crossed that he likes it. That's the first challenge.Just a little note. I had to switch my boy to YA very slowly, it is a nutrient dense food and can cause some stool changes, so keep an eye on Jebat's litter box. Oh and first week of poo might stink more than usual

Agreed... The first Three days my cat had the runs, but then it stopped.Just a little note. I had to switch my boy to YA very slowly, it is a nutrient dense food and can cause some stool changes, so keep an eye on Jebat's litter box. Oh and first week of poo might stink more than usual

My cat was such a nibbler that whatever she ate of the Young Again... A few kibble here and there... Didn't effect her numbers at all, so I never bothered to take it up. I guess you could see if the same is true for you. Thanks for the heads up!
Can he just graze till time for his shot? Do I need to stop him 2 hrs before shot?
The YA brochure said not to mix YA with other food including wet food. So shld I mix or not? I c that u all are giving wet and YA. Any complications? My cat was such a nibbler that whatever she ate of the Young Again... A few kibble here and there... Didn't effect her numbers at all, so I never bothered to take it up. I do wet twice a day and ya is out all the time. Cats can use the moisture. I also add all their supplements to the wet.... B12, cosequine, omega 3, and recently one of my cats gets FortiFlora. The YA brochure said not to mix YA with other food including wet food. So shld I mix or not? I c that u all are giving wet and YA. Thanks! Will try ur way. Feeding him soon in half hour n not sure which way to go. Hvnt let him sniff the YA yet. Will take BG reading then giv him wet n then insulin n leave a bowl of YA n see his reaction. Wish me luck that he'll try it.I do wet twice a day and ya is out all the time.
It's always better to change a diet slowly anywayThanks! Will try ur way. Feeding him soon in half hour n not sure which way to go. Hvnt let him sniff the YA yet. Will take BG reading then giv him wet n then insulin n leave a bowl of YA n see his reaction. Wish me luck that he'll try it.
If he's already got a full belly he's less likely to over eat it anyway. Thanks! Will try ur way. Feeding him soon in half hour n not sure which way to go. Hvnt let him sniff the YA yet. That's wat I thought but the brochure says otherwise. It's always better to change a diet slowly anyway
I got a blue for pmps! 182. I cldnt believe it so I repeated the test. So I shld giv him 2 units? If he's already got a full belly he's less likely to over eat it anyway.
No that's too much. Do 1.... If you can't monitor maybe 0.75 . You don't have any data at this level so you want to be conservative. If you haven't feed since that first test grab another test now without food and see if it went up.I got a blue for pmps! 182. I cldnt believe it so I repeated the test. So I shld giv him 2 units?
Fed him already. I gave him 0.8. I'm also very scared. Will take data every hour.No that's too much. Do 1.... If you can't monitor maybe 0.75 . It happened out of the blue! Cldnt believe my eyes. Oh n he luv YA. Gobbled a handful. And congrats on your first low preshot!!!
Haha. Those first low numbers are scary but great!Fed him already. I gave him 0.8. I'm also very scared. Will take data every hour.
Ya it's really scary but great! Good for him. I'm sure he's feeling better.Haha. Those first low numbers are scary but great!
I took it away from him already. Will give again in 2 hours time, his usual feeding time. It's really rich food so if he's inclined to overeat spread it out or start off slow.
Nope... You fed him less than 2 hours ago. That's the food influenced number.+1 reading is 270. Shldnt it be going down slightly after the pmps?
Haha ya I'm super curious but feel sorry for him. I'll do +3 n +5. Mayb +6. He's at the living room, chilling with the rest instead of hiding in the bathroom. You can probably wait until +4 to test again.... Unless you're really curious. Haha
Sounds good! Come on, Jebat... We wanna see some blues and greens!Haha ya I'm super curious but feel sorry for him. I'll do +3 n +5. Mayb +6. He's at the living room, chilling with the rest instead of hiding in the bathroom.![]()
I just wanna be ready in case it happens n I can't get u all.Sounds good! Come on, Jebat... We wanna see some blues and greens!
I wouldn't shoot below 130 for now without more data.... 130- 170 0.4I just wanna be ready in case it happens n I can't get u all.
Just now 180 I gave 0.8u.
So if it's 100-150 I'll give 0.4u.
Below 100 don't shoot.
Sounds ok?
Hmmm +3 went up to 350!I wouldn't shoot below 130 for now without more data.... 130- 170 0.4
170-220 0.8
Just for now until there's more info.
Let's see what today's numbers look like.
Yes, stop 2 hours before the shot so the pre shot BG test result isn't influenced by food. Thanks for the heads up!
Can he just graze till time for his shot? Do I need to stop him 2 hrs before shot?
I see. So it's to be expected? I c wat the reading is at +6.He may be bouncing from that blue. His body hasn't seen that sort of number in a while.. I feed Maury YA and he still gets his wet food meals and lunches, and if any food is left I do take it up 2 hours prior to PS.
Come down Jebat! You're giving your mama an ulcer! Lol.It's 410 at +6!
What's happening????
Will it be 500 at amps?![]()
Hahaha ya all the happiness turn to nought.Come down Jebat! You're giving your mama an ulcer! Lol.
It's OK... It's just one day... It'll settle down.![]()
Tomorrow's AM dose will depend on his AM pre shot test result.Hahaha ya all the happiness turn to nought.
And he's not eating the YA.
So tmr dose will depend on his amps? Or shld I lower it?
It's 4am and he's been meowing wholenight. I don't know why. Din want to eat his wet food either.Up to you. I'm a fan of dosing as it comes.
Ok thks! Hopefully his system will settle down n don't bounce again. Hard to handle.Tomorrow's AM dose will depend on his AM pre shot test result.
Yep.Just to confirm. The b12 is zobaline by lifelink? The bottle comes with 60 of 3mg tablets? I'm buying from Amazon.
Thanks! Was at the vet just now to buy a bottle of vetsulin. Dey reminded me not to go beyond 2.4u as they said it's already high. Can only roll my eyes!Yep.![]()
I suppose an overly cautious vet is better then the ones we see on here starting people off on 5 and 6 units. hahahaThanks! Was at the vet just now to buy a bottle of vetsulin. Dey reminded me not to go beyond 2.4u as they said it's already high. Can only roll my eyes!
I guess so. I have a cat with stomatitis and they asked me to pull out all his teeth but they can't guarantee he will recover. And another cat who had diarrhoea for just one morning and the vet made me do full blood count and her liver enzyme is slightly elevated. She said could be cancer. Just like in jebat's case they said cld b cancer cos he lost weight when I was away. I shld update them that he has put back on. Half the time I thk they r out to make $ from pet owners.I suppose an overly cautious vet is better then the ones we see on here starting people off on 5 and 6 units. hahaha
So true, Janet!I suppose an overly cautious vet is better then the ones we see on here starting people off on 5 and 6 units. hahaha
Thanks Yong! A good day today. Must be the YA. I'm slowly increasing the amount of ground YA I put in his food.So true, Janet!
Nice run of yellow and blue for your Saturday AM cycle![]()
