So, I started her on Prednisolone a week ago. She is on the last few doses of Flagyl.
She is doing MUCH better.
I know this isn't specific treatment, and she could be dong much better because pred makes *anything* feel better. Whatever, I am prepared for the worst because she is old and we have already been through a lot. Regardless, she has more energy and just seems so much better.

I take her to get weighed in a week or so.
She is still on the old diet of FF but i ordered Royal Canine duck + pea. However, I am thinking about canceling my order and getting Natural Balance, instead. Their ingredients seem almost the same.
Does anyone know about this?

The one issue that is still a bit concerning is that she is eating her own feces, still. It's really gross. The vet said it's a nutritional deficiency, but I don't know why now? He didn't even suggest what to supplement because he said it's only anecdotal evidence that it's nutritional.

That's all for now.

I supplement with raw grinded beef - which I mix with powdered bone meal and powdered vitamins and minerals. I don't know where you can buy powdered bone meal, vitamins and minerals, where you are at.

Here in Sweden I use a domestic brand for cats called Standardt, which I buy from a pet food website. On each can it says how much to use for quantity of kilo(pound) cat, but last time I made that quantity of kilo (pound) raw grinded beef instead. This helped Simba get his coat back a few years ago when he had almost lost all his coat and it didn't want to grow back and now also worked fine on the rescue baby girls I was looking after for 14 days.

It took some time for them though, to learn how to eat raw, so the first days I only gave small samples for training purpose. They showed me when they were ready to eat larger meals which I then tried to spread out during the day in several feeding occasions.

I am glad to hear that she is doing better. You did rule out anemia, right? The only other thing I can suggest regarding supplements would be to discuss the B12 (Cyanocobalamin) shots. I don't know if they would be helpful for the coprophagia, but they are reputed to be very helpful for IBD.

Does IBD cause a deficiency of digestive enzymes to break down the food? If possibly, then ask vet if enzyme supplement might help.

No or insufficient enzymes => no or reduced digestion and absorption => feces with nutrients still in them.

And maybe a cat multivitamin would help.
