Why is this cat so hungry? I can feed him and 2 minutes he's crying for more food. Could this be from having elevated bg yesterday , during his dental he went up in the 300 but had drastically improved before I even picked him up from the vet. Today his bg is back in normal range so I'm not understanding where this hunger is coming from.

Sorry I've been out , Blitzen is on pain meds from having a tooth extracted.
He's on Buprenex & Onsior. He has no other symptoms other then just wanting to eat constantly , he also isn't sleeping so I think I'm going to only give the Onsior starting tomorrow.
I had just read a few blogs about others cats acting the same way on the Buprenex.

Severe hunger can be s sign of uncontrolled diabetes. But, a few other questions for you. How large is the portion of food given? How often do you feed? What do you feed? All of these relate to satisfying his/or her hunger. Do an overall assessment and try to see the big picture. Also, how much insulin and the frequency are key parts as well. Believe me...I really had my ups and downs when I started caring for my little critter. Over time it does get better...and, more importantly, so will your baby. Good luck from Jane and Stewey

Hi Jane
He's diet controlled (OTJ) and is now back to his normal eating habits. He had a dental and that had him all messed up, possibly due to elevated bg from the stress of the cleaning. All is good , bg back in the 60's on my human meter and eating normally now.
