Re: Watching Jose's PM BG need to know if he is dropping too

Hi Rebecca,

Before you shoot today, can you post in the PZI sub-forum? Perhaps put a subject line something like: "2/28 Jose AMPS ## Dosing Help" and also click the question mark button at the top of the post. You can get some eyes on Jose's spreadsheet who are familiar with ProZinc to get some dosing help. It looks like 2.5u was OK for last night, but with that pre-shot in the 300's for the PM cycle, I'm suspicious that there may have been some bouncy hormones helping to keep him from going lower. It's possible that today, if those bouncy hormones have cleared out, that 2.5u may drop him low again. If nothing else, do keep a close eye on his numbers again today.

Re: Watching Jose's PM BG need to know if he is dropping too

I skipped Jose's insulin this morning. His AMPS was 177 so I tested again with giving good and 30 minutes later it was 171. I fed him his breakfast and an hour later he was at 209 and another hour later he was at 254. My question is when can I start giving him insulin again? I gave him 2.5 units last night so I'm going to give 2 units next since 2.5 still seemed to be too much. Should I wait until tonight or can I give it to him this afternoon?

Wait.

He'll probably be high.

Better too high for a day than too low for a moment.

He is at 312 right now. I would like to give him insulin so he doesn't get any higher tonight. Will it be safe to give him 2 units? I will not be able to monitor him tonight. I need to leave the house and will not be back until about +6.
