Surprise and not a pleasant one this am.

pmps 262 1 unit
+6 322
amps 461 (Wally is sure last night was not a fur shot)

At first Wally thought about going with the scale and giving 2 units. But we decided it could be a bounce from numbers we didn't get yesterday so we compromised on 1.5 He will get a +3 and +7 today so we will have more info.

Eating and pooping is good.

Wally, here are the threads for you to look at and copy off when you are at your sister's house. For others, one is on megacolon. (The ER vet said no to Miralax which Dr. Lisa is all for) And the other is mini dosing. Not sure if and when we might get there, but want Wally to be prepared. Reminder: He is using U100BCP with U100 syringes.

Megacolon: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=54340

Mini dosing: http://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopi ... 24#p360982 and http://www.steverapaport.com/jock/Syrin ... radations/ (Look on the left hand side of the page for pictures of syringes with mini doses.

Re: Wally and Costello 10/17

Odd that there was no drop so agree it's a bounce.
I would go with dr. lisa over an er vet without a doubt on any question involving nutrition and digestive health.

Hmmmmm.

amps 461
+3 433
+5 442
+7 382

Wally will get a +9 for us in an hour.

What do you think? Too much or too little?

Too little. I think the super high doses have had a lasting effect that has finally cleared.
Sort of like Risky...
Might stay with 1.5 for one more cycle but 2.0 might be better on a red PMPS

He'll have a pmps in 2 hours. I would guess it will be in the 400-500 range. I am guessing he will like 2 units. He was thinking higher this am.

No chance it's rebound?

Wont ever say "no chance" but if +6 was nadir, it's a hundred point drop. Just looks like a shallow curve I think.

Please tell me USPS delivered something today....

Wally is giving 1.75 tonight with a pmps of 410. He was a little worried about 2U. Yes, two packages arrived - one with lancets, strips and one with syringes. Finally!

All great news. Amazing how much/quickly Wally has learned about dosing, and feeling good about "go slow"!
The strips he got.... which brand? IOW, he has the right meter already?

Carl

He got a Contour meter and strips and syringes, some cash and a gift card. Just like Christmas!!

We are trying to find a food Costello can eat. He is apparently allergic to chicken - he breaks out with lesions on his chin. Fish is okay but not every day. And of course the alternate meats like vension, rabbit are more expensive.

Same allergy to turkey? That pretty much leaves beef....
Is anyone familiar with the various special kitty flavors? I know turkey and giblets seems to be the popular one (and the only one I've ever gottten). I'm thinking cheap, easy to get, and low carb, if SK has any that Wally can feed Costello.

Carl

Unfortunately none of the cheaper foods seem to have alternate meats. They are all fish, chicken and poultry and beef. He will try beef but it is often an allergy issue too.

We have found raw with rabbit, venison and lamb. $$$. A couple of the premium foods have venison or lamb. $$$

What is the lesser of the evils? Allergic reactions, or too much seafood? Probably better with low-carb seafood flavors that he can easily afford?
