did a keto test, to me the color is BETWEEN neg & trace. Its not beige, but not pink.....??

Ok, here is what I think your vet is telling you. If you get a reading under 100 at any time during the cycle, then do not give any insulin until you see a number in the range of 200-220. If Skittles is not at least up to 200 when his next shot is scheduled (+12), then don't give a shot until he is.

Actually, I think this is not much different than what we normally tell caregivers when they first start out. "Don't shoot less than 200".

So maybe not bad advice. Just a confusing way to give it to you.

On the ketone test. It might be that you waited a few seconds longer than the directions say to check the strip? I don't remember how they are written, but I think the strip will get darker after whatever the " time limit" is. Check again tomorrow and see what it looks like. If you were to see "trace" you should inform the vet asap. If he ever does show ketones, the earlier it is dealt with, the better. They would probably verify it by testing his blood, and they'd want to make sure he doesn't have some sort of infection going on.

I have to bring his insulin to my phar for them to see before they will sell me any needles, so I didnt get any yet
If you bring his Prozinc to the pharm, it is very likely they won't sell you the U100 syringes. They'll tell you that they aren't right for that insulin and that you need to use U40's.

I never had to have a Scrpit to get syringes before. But the pharmacy was pretty clear and she said that not to long ago NC changed it laws. This is also a privately owned stored, don't know if that makes a difference. I am going to check w Walmart and see what happens. If it comes to it, maybe I can get someone from another state to get them for me ( of course I will pay, but that also depends on the shipping laws too)

Or, if you know anyone who is diabetic, they would use U100 syringes to treat human diabetes, and maybe they could pick them up for you?

Here in AZ, I just take my vet invoice that shows the purchase of ProZinc on it, and tell them I use U-100 syringes with a conversion chart because I need to dose my cat in tiny increments. I have never had a problem getting U100s this way - not at WalMart's pharmacy, nor at CVS, nor at my local Fry's grocery store pharmacy (which is part of the Kroger chain of stores). But that said, perhaps ESID? (Every state is different.;))

Can probably do this.

With my vet, everything is online. I can go to my info on their site and show everything ( all vacs, visits etc) I told the phar I could pull it up but she said she had to actually see the box with or without the insulin bottle in it. Like I said, I didnt have to do this almost 10 years ago.

BTW, his PMPS= 149

AMPS=216 (gave 1 unit)
PMPS=129 (no insulin)
-4=134

If you look back at the last 8 days, he has gotten 1 unit only 8 times instead of 16 times. ( if I looked right, Im so tired that Im going to take a quick nap...was just waiting to do his +7 test)

I find out that the no needle without showing ur insulin and or box is something the owner made. He had way to many druggies trying to buy needles from him

Not any 100, I guess I wasn't saying the correct name/kind because they were confused. But my package came today so now I have a half box of U40.
Someone gave them to me
