Hello all some of the old timers may remember me when I had my sweet Do Woo and posted here well last week one of my older cats he’s almost 14 was dx diabetic right now we are using N I don’t plan to stay on this insulin long so far at half a unit he’s doing well vet wanted him on 1u bid but next day he was only 62 at +4 I still need to make a SS he’s super about letting me test him so that’s a plus he’s on all canned and freeze dried food and I ordered YA zero carb also considering it’s been a while since I had a diabetic it came back to me everything I needed to be doing but I went to Walmart yesterday to buy more relion strips and found out it’s no longer being made so I need some meter recommendations for a affordable reliable meter that takes.3 sample size I do have the Alpha trak2 but do not want to use it daily as strips are costly for testing a lot

Hi Lisa. Welcome back :bighug:
I just did a Search for "small blood sample" and got a match on a recent thread by D and Noisy. Do you remember her? Maybe she was before your time. She also has a new diabetic and a FreeStyle Freedom Lite was suggested as it only needs a 0.3 sample of blood. At the top of their website it says you can get a free meter. I don't know how much the test strips are, as I have never used one.
Are you planning to change to one of the longer acting insulins?
Good luck with the spreadsheet.

Hi that's strange about the Relion prime or the Relion premier. We all buy them at Walmart. You can even order them on line from Walmart. They do take a little more blood 0.5 sample but I never had a problem . :cat:

Lisa!!!!

I just saw your post. There are a few of us old timers here. There's information on the Novolin/N support group page if you need it.

The Relion meter that you used to use is no longer available. You'll need to "upgrade" to the new one or pick a new meter. Let me know how I can help.
