Just wanted to pass this along for anyone who might be interested in pre-packaged raw diets for their kitties.

I got the ME numbers for one of Vital Essentials diets (Classic Chicken)

Vital Essentials has new food line available and I wanted to share with others asking about kibble.
This isn't kibble per say, its freeze dried meat but it can be used the same. They say you don't need to rehydrate it.

I asked for the carb count and why they added Apple Cidar Vinegar. Their response: (Sorry my phone doesn't keep format. Hope its legible. )

ACV is added for palatability (enhances flavor) and may provide some health benefits with relationship to urinary and kidney issues in kitties.

Regarding your question about carbs in the cat nibblets, we do not include any fruits, veggies or any types of grains in any of our products, VE would be considered a carb free food.

Freeze Dried Cat Nibblets

Chicken: Ash 14.3 Carbs 2.1

Turkey: Ash 12.6 Carbs 1.6

Duck: Ash 11.8 Carbs 1.7

Fish: Ash 11.7 Carbs 1.2


Notes: Keep in mind, the “carbs” that do show up in our raw diets are derived from naturally occurring glycogen from connective tissues in the meats.
