Hi
Has anyone shipped vetsulin that has been used? I a told it must be refrigerated but not frozen--
It will be going from Chicago to MD-
Suggestions on how to ship properly appreciated ….

Wrap it up well in something to protect it from breaking.....get a cheap ice pack and then use lots of newspaper and stuff the shipping box full...newspaper is a great insulation and will keep it safe in the box

You just don't want the insulin coming in contact with the ice pack

I like the small Priority Mail shipping boxes....they can weigh up to 75lbs for the same cost (the one I like is about $5.95 shipping) and you get a tracking number on it too

Takes 2-3 days to ship depending on destination

Hi Chris--with the newspaper do I need to be concerned about it freezing--Chicago is bitter cold right now-
Probably in 30's if I mail it on Friday-

what's important is if it's sitting around....as long as it's over 32 in Chicago it should be fine.... the next time that will be very important is when it arrives at it's destination...you wouldn't want it sitting in someone's mailbox for several hours in sub-freezing cold

Marks will ask us what our weather is supposed to be like upon delivery...if it's going to be too cold, they won't ship it until it's safe (in case it ends up sitting in our mailbox when it's too cold)

It is not warm enough to ship insulin in the upper midwest states. There is only one day this week that it will be above freezing at night, most days it will remain below freezing day and night.

You have a good point Melanie....I forgot that polar vortex is supposed to be dug into the upper midwest and northeast this week.....I think it's best to wait and see when this real cold snap is over before shipping...May be OK by Friday, but that means it'll probably sit over the weekend

May be better to wait until you know for sure that there's no freezing going on between Chicago and MD
