Henry's human
Member Since 2016
I had to take Henry to the vet today because he has a swollen lip (nothing to do with his diabetes, but I wanted to have it checked out pretty fast in case it affected his diabetes) and his usual vet was not in, so we saw a vet we hadn't seen before. She immediately asked how Henry's diabetes was going and I showed her the list of his BSL (she was telling Henry he had a very clever mummy because I was doing the home testing and she thought I was wonderful hehe). She asked me how long he has been in remission and I said to her that I didn't know he WAS in remission... She said his numbers were mostly really great and she was confused as to whether Henry actually HAD diabetes at all to begin with. I was really confused... I don't know what to think.
He has not had insulin for six days now (it would have been longer, but I gave him insulin 'just in case' seven days ago). He's slowly gaining weight again (which I will have to be careful about as I don't want him to be overweight again). I think I am feeding him too much - we are learning to live without the dry food
It's a process.
(I need to update the spreadsheet again - I can only update it when I am on my laptop)
