Hi, does anyone have a vet they can recommend in Phoenix (East Valley) who is open to glucose testing with a human meter, non-prescription dietary changes, etc.? The vet I've been taking my cat too doesn't seem to agree with a lot of the advice given here. She's not a fan of glucose testing in general on animals/cats and if I want to try it, she will only accept readings from an Alphatrak because human meters on cats are inaccurate due to the difference in how glucose is stored in the blood. She prefers to use Libre sensors to start and then test in office as needed once stable. She says dry food is fine as long as it's Purina DM (she said she's had the best results with that food). Also neuropathy has no treatment other than balancing blood sugar levels and likely will not get better, and remission is rare.
