I posted over in the PZI forum, but wanted post here too to say thanks for all the help here too.

Max and I went to the vet this afternoon, and the doctor was very surprised to see how controlled Max's numbers were two weeks after DX, and also was shaking his head, surprised, saying: "This has to be because of diet. Has to be." Doc concluded that the pancreas is healing, and Max is officially diet-controlled, yay!

He didn't say a word about keeping Max on M/D food, but told me to not change what I was feeding--no mention of trying some other rx food. He also happily took the felinediabetes.com flyer I had printed for him, so he could see where I was getting my effective info!

I know this would not have happened without everyone here on this board sharing their wisdom. Thank you so much! Hopefully, Max won't need shots for a very long time.

CONGRATS!! My vet said that if we sustain Chloe's numbers... she'll be the FIRST resmission kitty he's ever had.

What a great mama you are! Congrats again!!!

Congratulations! You have both done a great job!
Do you plan on spot testing here and there BG's?

Yes. We were advised to test 1x a day for the first week, then every other day for a week, then once a week or if drinking/urinating picks back up. So far so good, but I've got my fingers crossed too :)
