Hi all

Does anyone know if Virbac vet Aquadent is suitable for diabetic cats?

Now he's not having biscuits I want to protect his teeth.

Sorry I can’t answer that but I can tell you it’s a myth that dry food helps clean the cats teeth. Most cats don’t chew the dry food they just swallow it. Years ago when I didn’t know any better, and I fed dry, I used to find when one of the cats vomited, the food was always just whole dry food.
I clean my cats teeth these days. Would your kitty let you rub a thin piece of cloth around Stanley’s teeth.?

When people come into my grooming salon and ask about dental health and they quickly tell me about the bones they get. The way I look at is as a human if I eat granola do I need to brush me teeth?
There are many things available now.You will just have to see what works for you

Not sure about Aquadent but PlaqueOff is a powder you can add to their food (as long as there's no thyroid issues present!). There's actually been rumors of the cat version lowering BG level. I don't have personal experience with that but I started using it on my dogs a couple months ago and noticed IMMENSE improvement. I started my older cat on it a couple weeks ago since I don't want to put him under for a dental, should see results in a few weeks.
