Vet Appointments During covid19

Hi All,

I was just wondering everyone's experience with vet appointments right now. I guess it may vary from state to state. I'm in California and we're in mandatory lockdown, so the visits are dropoff at the curb only. I was trying to schedule a checkup for Minnie for a current blood work (suggested by the nutritionist to check her potassium and electrolyte levels), but her regular vet is pregnant and not practicing right now given everything that is going on. I feel very uneasy about handing my cat over to a tech from the car and having her handled by a vet I've never met. They will not let me speak with the vet over the phone prior, only during the visit as I sit and wait in my car at the parking lot. I wanted to see if it's just me being a freak or if anyone else out there has dealt it a similar scenario and/or feels kinda the same

Same thing here in New Jersey, they will come to the car and get your cat , then will contact you with blood test results. If the get will be examining Minnie the vet should call you

Boy I feel your anxieties! I couldnt hand Zoe over to someone I never met. But then again the new Vet may turn out to be a blessing. Its like playing russian roulette

Same here in small town Kansas they come out to the car and take the pet inside without you. They sent me home and called me over the phone to tell me what they found and I could come pick her up (small dog). When I got there they brought her out and gave me her meds and sent me on my way. Strange days we live in now

I understand why you are concerned. If the only thing they are doing is drawing blood and a general health check, then it most likely will be fine.
