I took Godzilla again to vet he isn't eating, drinking, or peeing he did poop. He doesn't want to walk and they did x rays and they say it's cause he has very severe arthritis in his spine. They have him on pain meds but he just doesn't even want to move. I am very scared I am loosing him. Plus this vet told me no shot unless his blood sugar is over 250 but that seems to high to me. I am going to see if I can get another vet to look at him tomorrow if possible where it will be Sat. I will have to have someone take him for I have to work.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do and has any ones vet ever said no shot until blood sugar over 250? Please pray for my guy, I love him so much. I have had him since he was 2 days old and he is now 10 years old.

Narcotic type pain meds may suppress appetite and reduce interest in doing much.

The 250 mg/dL level is roughly the renal threshold where glucose spills into the urine. While not a normal level, it can be tolerated for a while. Few vets are familiar with tight regulation in feline diabetics.

See my signature link Glucometer notes for more info on what the t sts may mean.

fingers crossed he is just getting used to the meds. Maybe there is something else they can give him? I think you're right getting another vet to take a look. I assume the no shot level is because he's not eating, they may tell you to give insulin if he's eating again.

Hoping for the best for you and your little one xx

If his glucose is high, a token dose of insulin may help. If he is sick, not eating, and has hyperglycemia, it sets him up for diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA).

Mine has severe osteoarthritis and has greatly improved after we started adequan shots.
I give an adequan shot every 3 weeks....
In the beginning you give one every week and then start spreading it out . Every 2 ... every 3.... sometimes every 4.... ( that's the widest gap I've heard of)

Ask you vet about using it. It's for dogs and horses but vets are learning that it's helpful for cats too.

In our case, my cat was having numbers in the low 100's .... and the adequan took the edge off and her numbers dropped .
The pain affects them . I saw some high 100's too.
