Vaseline as a treat?

A few years ago I discovered by accident that Turtle looooves Vaseine. I read that it was often used as an inexpensive alternative to PetroMalt, etc, for hairballs, so I sometimes let her lick a few smears off my fingers as a treat.

Is Vaseline OK with her diabetes? I think I read something about how it might slow food absorption. Could this skew her BG numbers? She loves it so much that I have been giving to her as her post-test treat the last few days. In fact she seems more cooperative about the testing when she sees the jar of vaseline sitting there! I let her lick a few smears off my finger. Although I just give her a little bit, it adds up when I'm testing several times a day and giving it to her after each test!

Thoughts?

It will not mess with the BG numbers.

However, petrolatum (Vaseline or any hairball remedies containing petrolatum), is not
the best for cats.

It interferes with the absorption of B-vitamins in the gut.

Better find something else. How about some freeze-dried chicken treats.
At the pet store, but buy them in the 'dog' section....better price, just break them
into smaller 'cat-sized' pieces.

Thanks!! Hopefully PetCo has those. I'll take a look. I'll keep the Vaseline for ear pricks...!
