Using new meter......super high bg for Calley

So now I am really confused. I used a new Relion Micro meter that a very lovely board member sent to me(thank you).......and I used it for the first time at tonight PMPS. And Calley's bg was the highest its ever been at 437 on a home meter. So now I am left wondering just how off my Relion Prime has been all this time.

Maybe none of the numbers I have gotten in the past two months have been accurate at all. ?????

Calley seemed to do better when she was on Humulin.....she had bg #s under 100. Now she is in the upper 200's and 300's....and maybe 400's?

PS....she must be nauseated too....she is licking her lips a lot. I am walking around after her with a roll of paper towels as I know what is coming.

She was grooming herself a lot yesterday....do you think the flea meds I put on her could be causing her higher BG and her vomiting overnight and nausea tonight?

I use two meters. One that the vet made me buy called the Alpatrak 2 for pets, and a Relion Confirm.
What I've noticed is the Pet one almost always rates 30-100 points higher than the Human one.
From what I gather they get more accurate and closer at smaller numbers.
I use both. Also, you can test the same drop of blood with three different strips in the same meter and get three different numbers.

Yes depending on the flea meds they can cause a spike in BGs. Usually temporary. I would trust the new meter way more than the Prime.

Pepcid given 30mins before food could help with the upset tummy.

Yeah...I have tried testing same blood right in a row and have gotten wildly differing numbers. All with the Prime meter. I haven't tried it so far with the Micro. Will have to do so.

Calley just vomited up everything she ate at PM shot time. And then turned around is begging for food. Through all her vomiting she has never lost her appetite.

I asked the vet about the Pepcid and he recommended not giving her any extra meds other than the insulin. I want to know why she is vomiting though and he said that it was because she is not regulated.

I would rather get the vet to give me the bupe and switch her to levemir and hope that helps her. I will try the Pepcid over the weekend and see if it helps. There are so many variables going on with her.....I just want to eliminate as many as I can and try to narrow down
what is causing her vomiting. Is it the unregulated diabetes or is it not? I don't know. I don't know anything...certainly not what my poor baby is going through.

I will test her here again and see if she is still high.
