my husband forgot to feed and give bodie his insulin at 8pm it's now 10:30...so do i skip all together tonight? give him insulin?? ugh
 
If you give insulin now, can you give insulin 12 hours after that and be OK working back your schedule 1/2 hour each day? Any history of DKA or ketones?

okay thank you no known history of DKA or ketones, but honestly i don't even know what that test entails for those...i don't think hes ever had those tested
 
They should have told you if ketones were present. If you can be off schedule shoot. If not pretend it was a fur shot and skip.
 
Ketones are tested either with urine test strips for via a blood meter. Any urine tests done at the vet would show ketones, plus you can do it at home. And they would have mentioned it if ketones or DKA was a concern.

I'm going to add a comment about dosing. You cannot dose by BG test data taken just at preshot time. You really need to get some mid cycle tests to see how low the dose is taking the cat. Those really high numbers a few days ago has me worried that he is seeing lower numbers when you aren't testing, and bouncing.

okay thank you for the info about the low numbers and mid cycle tests. I will start doing those and posting for guidance. thank you all!!
 
You really have to start getting some mid cycle tests in both morning and night cycle, even more if possible to see how low the insulin is taking Bodies :cat:
