Rocky seems to feel a bit better since yesterday.
Had to cancel a specialist appointment on Monday as waiting for insurance company's decision to cover the cost of investigation and treatment. Next possible appointment will be on Tuesday or Wednesday.
In the meantime we had received Rocky's blood test results and it showed that Rocky had a very serious infection with T. gondii - Toxoplasmosis! His IgM titers were the highest levels they could detect.
Rocky starts on antibiotics today.
Antibiotics can suppress active parasites but they can not destroy tissue cysts and other treatment may be needed including surgery.
All this does not mean that he hasn't got another serious disease with symptoms mentioned in my previous post but I have a feeling that this is a problem (toxo) as Rocky has 90% of symptoms of infection with Toxoplasma.
I just hope that we will manage to get him healthy with simple treatment of antibiotics as I'm dreading all these appointments, scans and invasive treatments as it does affect Rocky badly.
I have some thoughts on toxoplasmosis and pancreatitis but it is a subject of another post so watch this space!
