Update on Peaches

I took him in around 1:15 today and the vet checked him all over and moved his legs around and found nothing...his chest and stomach and everything sound healthy...she is guessing he had a seizure unrelated to his kidney failure or his diabetes and she just wants me to keep an eye on him and see if it happens again. Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers...

Shadow, my other kitty, probably has a UTI and possibly crystals so I have to give him clavamox and change his food...thankfully my vet only charged me for 1 exam fee so it was a cheap visit...I love my vet!

Sheryl, when you can I would still get Peaches checked out by a cardiologist. All Hope did was stop needing insulin and found out she has RCM. No signs showing yet and we got it early enough that the meds have kept her condition from deteriorating. Just a thought.

Oh good, I just got home and came to look for an update. This is not too bad!

Just so you know, Sheryl, I asked about the dry food this am because of the crystals issue only. Sadly Moochie only eats dry food still so God knows I'm not judging anybody ;-) . Bo and Eartha got both types of food when they were still living outside and I continued the practice when they adopted me. I only stopped because of Bo's bladder issues.

Hi Sheryl,

getting on board late today and just read what happened w/ peaches .
scary.
I'm glad to hear that you got him in to the vet and looked over and that he is feeling much better.

You do have experience w/ seizures -- (btw-how is maggie doing?) -- they come in all shapes and sizes tho.
I would keep a camera handy and video if happens again to show vet. ( well of course you need to make sure he is safe first ;-) ) Hoping it was just a one time deal w/ him and nothing serious underneath .

I am going to switch them back to a good quality dry food for the 5 that aren't diabetic...Peaches (and Shadow now) can't have any of it and I just have to be more diligent when it comes to him and his food...I am sure it was my fault because he has not been a priority the last year since Michael was born and if I want him around another year I need to stay more on top of things...

Maggie is doing awesome. She has been off of the phenobarbitol for almost a year- not because the vet took her off but because I started to forget it after Michael was born (another bad kitty moment)- but it was a blessing in disguise because she is now not on it and does fine...she has had 2 seizures in the year and I give her the pheno during them because her seizures are so funky and then they go away...she is much more playful and back to her silly self which I love to see since she is my funny cat. She runs and plays with the 2 cats I fostered (Shadow and Cheeto) and now plan to keep and they just love each other...

Thanks for asking Cheryl- How are you doing lately? I haven't been on here much...the baby (and the rescue) keeps me busy
