Hi all. Been a while, but wanted to give you an update on Murphy. You may know that she had a very serious lesion on the right side of her abdomen, although we aren't sure how she did this, it appears that she may have jumped or tried to jump onto my countertop to get Oscie's food and fell and hurt herself. We've tried onseys and doggie t-shirts to keep her from licking the wound, but the other day, I found her little onsey in the litter box, she had poopied on it!

Her BG appears to be stabilized, which I'm grateful for.

Hope you all are well and Happy New Year.

When Maverick had his peg tube - it went in through the side of his stomach... we had to keep him away from the insertion site... We had onsies on him also. We had to change them often as they would stretch out and also need to be washed. We used some first aid tape (the kind you use with gauze, not the kind that isn't sticky) to keep the bottom from riding up. We gently wrapped it around the bottom of the onsie. Not tight enough that it constricted, just to prevent it from riding up so he couldn't lick the site. We tried vet wrap but it rolled up on itself and no matter how we did it it seemed so tight. If you can prevent Murphy from getting access you could dab the injury with triple antibiotic ointment a couple times a day.

We've been giving her the Happy Hips for her joint problems and neuropathy, but now we've switched to a daily multi vitamin powder that has glucosamine and chondroitin in it, so, I believe that is what was rising her numbers. It's only been that way a few times, so we're going to see how she does w/out the treats for a week, and then if nothing changes, time for a curve.

Happy new year, murphy! and it could be worse...

Slashy had bad neuropathy, gave him Methyl B12, from a company called Lifelink as I recall. Worked good.

Oh my gosh this is hysterically funny. So is finding the onsie in the litter box poopied on.

But seriously glad Murphy seems to be doing a little better! cat_pet_icon
