Hey everyone in LL!!! I am just passing on an update on Mitzi. This was her last post on Thursday http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=114555

So, the latest is she is Stage 4 Kidney Failure, Heart Murmur and Pancreatitis. They wanted to put her down but Mara wouldnt hear of it. She has done fluids before for another cat she had so she wasnt giving up on Mitzi. So she brought her home and started fluids and feeding prescription kidney food that someone was super nice to give her at the ER (A patient). She has the list of foods sorted by PS and she is at least going to pick up some Friskies Special Diet Turkey and Giblets for her to eat. Mitzi is walking and eating ok. I have given her the link to Tanya's site so she can learn everything she can about CRF. I am going to be helping her setup a YouCaring fundraiser to help her pay for the ER visit. She is a full time college student with no job and what funds she had, she had to use at the ER. I have also given her Marje's primer on pancreatitis for her to read and print out. If there is anything else yall can give advice wise I know she would greatly appreciate it!! She lives in LaCross, Wisconsin and its a small town. Thank you to everyone that has been praying and caring for her. When I told her about everyone she was so surprised. I had to tell her how much of a family we all become and that we all are here for each other no matter what. We have all been through something similar in our kitties lives and we all need each others support just to make it through sometimes.

So hopefully I will get her on here to tell you more but for now, at least I wanted to let you know.

Thank you for the update Donna.
Mara sounds just like one of us. I'm glad Mitzi is home and praying that she is feeling better and better and the fluids and special food helps her. That was so kind of that ER patient to help her out.

I hope to see Mara and Mitzi on this board more often. It is like a family and we are here to support her.

Thanks, Donna. I'm so glad Mitzi is home.

As you know, I've got some experience with CKD. If you want to send Mara my way! I will help her any way I can.

Hi Donna, I am sad to hear of how sick Mitzi is and I know what it's like to love and nurture a cat with both pancreatitis and ckd. Praying for both Mara and Mitzi. Thank you for this update.
