Hello MY Wife and I got Our Joey on Fancy Feast Classic Low Carb//No carb Costco Caned chicken this is something we just found, just wash it off out of the can so the packing water is cleaned off. after 2 days he came down into the Mid 200'sBG he is still using 1 unit of LANTUS every 12 hours, we are working on a spread to post, This is good news for us he had been in the high 300's and even 400'sBG we could not get Him down. I feel this had been caused by a Vet that sold us can food that was 24%plus in carbs. Hills WD, this guy knows nothing about treating a cat with Diabetes, he took all the food Back. he does mostly Large Animals. there are 2 vets in our rural area that treat small animals but Diabetes is not something they seem to know much about.

That's sounds like our vet. Our vet's staff says that I know more about diabetic cats than either of of the vets. They had never heard of Prozinc. I had to educate them before they would let me change from Vetsulin. Of course I've been reading this board for the last two years.
 
Hello again I'm still learning how it all works here, News on Joey he did get down into the med to low 200's BG, but for some reason he still spikes into the 300's with the same food and feeding amount?? he is now on 2 units of Lantus every 12 hours, No Change so far. Any Ideas what could be going on I'm at a loss for ideas or answers
 
hello thanks Today he started in the low 300's and as of 1:50pm today he is still testing high. Its confusing to me? not sure what is going on with him??
