I know this isn't about Sue (who is just fine, btw :-D ), but I feel like I know you guys best!!!

The doctor left a message for me. I don't know why she didn't call my cell phone.

It is not a fibrosarcoma, but it is a malignant fibrous histiocytoma. I believe it is also a vaccine-associated cancer. I will find out more on Monday when I talk to her. I can't find out much about this on the internet. I believe it is quite rare.

I am saddened by the news, but not surprised. I pretty much knew it was going to be cancer. She said they are pretty sure that they got it all... I guess that's good news.

I'll let you guys know when I know more.

Chicken is doing well. We used all the pain meds. She is eating, purring and I saw her preening tonight for the first time!!!!

Thanks for all of your support.

Purring and Preening - that must give your heart a little boost. I'm still amazed at this - I really never knew how common or serious VAC was. I checked Maverick over well after your post showing Chicken's incision picture. I'm reading the linked files now.

Hi Jenny, Think positively. It's good that the doctors think they got all the cancer. Sending lots of healing vines to Chicken. Hey Chicken, you are a good, brave girl!

Here's healing vines for Chicken and I join the group in wanting to think positively that they got it all. We'll be interested in hearing what the vet says about the next steps. Hang in there..we're all thinking of you all.

Healing vines for your Chicken! I'm glad they think they got it all. I hope her incision is on the mend. Hooray for purring!

Hi,
I wish Chicken a full recovery and so glad to hear she's feeling well. Thanks for the informational link and bringing awareness about this vaccine associated cancer. It's always a confusion when taking my cat to the Vet and the shots. Hang in there and positive thoughts and prayers for Chicken and you.

Speedy recovery Chicken....I am sorry about the results, but I am hopeful that they got it all and this will be the end of ti...
Hugs to you and Chicken... :YMHUG: :YMHUG: Appreciate the update and am wishing you both the very best!
