07/05/2020 UPDATE:

Nathan made 14 days without insulin, with BG ranging 60-99.

Thank you all.

=========================================================

Hello all,

Nathan now is on the OTJ trial and today is the 4th day. I just cannot thank enough for the awesome information here and wonderful members who have helped us.

Wish us luck and bless you all.

Nathan was completely off the dry food and on low-carbs canned food on 06/03/2020.

Starting 06/10/2020, his pre-shot BG levels have dropped to <160.

Starting 06/18/2020, his pre-shot BG levels have dropped to <100.

I still gave him tiny dose of insulin (0.05-0.1u) for 6 more cycles (3 days).

On 06/21/2020, we got his pre-shot BG as 77, so we thought he might be ready for OTJ trial. And today is the 4th day.

So far he has been doing well, except that he is peeing much less than before.

Before his diagnosis, he peed 5 times a day, and each time it was a large volume.

A few days after he was on insulin, he peed 3 times a day, and still in a large volume.

In the past week, he peed only twice a day, and it was the normal volume.

Today, he first peed on 0:06am and it was the normal volume. Then he peed on 8:40pm (more than 20 hours apart) and it was a relatively large volume.

I just tested Nathan the ketone using the ketone blood meter, and it gave me "LOW".

Is there anything else I should worry?

His appetite is good and he eats about 8oz of canned food daily. But I haven't seen him drink water from the drinking fountain or water bowl recently.

Nathan is looking awesome! it makes sense to me that you're noticing him peeing less, increased urination (polyuria) is a symptom of diabetes so with his better numbers it is probably bringing him down to normal urine levels, great news! Im not really sure about the poo though, i don't know if that is normal or not.

Good luck with your trial! I hope Nathan is truly on the way to remission :D
