I confess I may be over thinking this but here it goes... how do we deal with the up coming time change? Right now Tobby gets insulin at 6 am and 6 pm. In three weeks we "fall" back an hour, so his 6 am would be 5 am... which just isn't going to be possible for me. So do I bump out his insulin time by 15 minutes every few days to get him to 7 am and 7 pm and then when the time changes we will be back to 6 am and 6 pm? I asked the vet and she was stunned with the question and had no answer.

Some caretakers move the shot times 15 minutes each time. I myself do nothing special. If it were the spring when the interval would go to 11 hour there is more concern.

Good question to ask. It's something most people have to deal with twice per year. You're not over thinking it, and it's always funny when you can make your vet do this -

From your prior posts, it looks like you are using Lantus. You can adjust the shot time by 15 minutes per shot. Or you can adjust one time, 30 minutes per day. So it really only takes as little as two days to get from "here" to "there".

Since we are on the subject......

REMINDER ..... Don't forget to change the "SummerTime/DST IS IN EFFECT" designation in your User Control Panel to "NO" on the day we 'fall back'.

Thanks much. I'm happy to say that Tobby is responding super well to the all wet no carb diet... we've taken him from 2 units back down to 1.5 units and I suspect it's going to go down again this week when we go in for blood check!
