Hi all! Im still so new to the diabetic kitty world. Since joining I have soaked up so much knowledge some of which admittedly is still very confusing to me! Ex: the time change. Bear is on Lantus. Just found the thread talking about adjusting your dosage by 15 mins starting Thursday I have yet to adjust my dosage and am in desperate need of help. She has had her first shot at 8AM and I am very confused as to how to "get back on track" by Monday.
Any help is much appreciated by the bun and I! *kicking myself for not being prepared*

Does this help it's an example , so just substitute your time instead of the 7:00 example

Option A (move in 15 minute increments): pick any 4 times during the week to move your shot time by15 minutes. This option requires a little planning, but should have very minimal impact on BG’s.

Example: regular time is 7:00
Thursday AMPS at 7:00
Thursday PMPS at 6:45
Friday AMPS at 6:45
Friday PMPS at 6:30
Saturday AMPS at 6:30
Saturday PMPS at 6:15 (you will set your clock ahead overnight)
Sunday AMPS at 7:15, which is the “old” 8:15
Sunday PMPS at 7:00, which has you on schedule for Monday morning

So I think yours will go like this if you started Thursday morning
Regular time 8:00
Thurs AMPS at 8:00
Thurs PMPS at 7:45
Friday AMPS at 7:45
Friday PMPS at 7:30
Sat AMPS at 7:30
Sat PMPS at 7:15 you will set your clock ahead overnight
Sun AMPS at 8:15
Sun PMPS at 8:00 which has you on schedule for Monday morning

Thanks for the reply!
From my understanding if I started today and I gave the first shot at 8am my schedule for the next 4 days would look like:
Friday PMPS: 7:45
Sat. AMPS: 7:45
Sat. PMPS: 7:30
Sun. AMPS: 7:30
Sun. PMPS: 7:15
Mon. AMPS: 7:15
Mon. PMPS: 7:00

All the reading about Lantus and time change makes me so nervous so I just want to be sure I'm doing this right!

I don't think you are correct, take a look at what I wrote above

I would be starting this evening since she has already received her first shot 4hrs ago. I tried to change the example to as if I was starting the adjustment tonight. I'm just so lost in this and seeing a written out schedule helps us out alot!

I don't think you are correct if you started today Friday Morning instead of Thursday morning

I'm going to tag someone to see if this is correct if you are starting tonight Friday PMPS

Friday 8:00 AMPS
Friday 7:45 PMPS
Saturday 7:45 AMPS
Saturday 7:30 PMPS
Sunday 7:30 AMPS
Sunday 7:15 PMPS
Monday 8:15 AMPS
Monday 8:00 PMPS

You want to get back to your 8:00 am and pm schedule correct

What you wrote on how you think you should do it I think is incorrect

Ciony Disregard this I was off a little, go by what Wendy&Neko told you to do ok so sorry, that's why I like to ask more experienced members

@Deb & Wink I Deb I'm trying to help out @Bear and the hooman Ciony
with her daylight savings time, but she isn't starting it until tonight
She forgot to start on Thursday AM
Her shooting time is 8 am and 8 pm
Can you please look at what I put down for her if she is starting tonight Friday #7 thank you

Take a look at #3 this is what she put down but I think it's wrong, she is ending with 7:00. Not 8:00

Thanks so much
@Wendy&Neko thank you

You are not a fool, it can be confusing it you don't see it written out for your time, Let's wait and see if the members I tagged think what I told you is correct for starting tonight ok do you see where I put it in #7

Hi Ciony and Bear.:) You were close.

Friday 8:00 AMPS
Friday 7:45 PMPS
Sat. AMPS: 7:45
Sat. PMPS: 7:30
Sun. AMPS: 8:30, our clocks sprang forward overnight, so the old 7:30 is now 8:30.
Sun. PMPS: 8:15
Mon. AMPS: 8:15
Mon. PMPS: 8:00 Back on schedule.
@Wendy&Neko thank you Wendy , I was off on telling her what to do in #7, thank you for letting her know what is correct:cat:

Thank you all!! :bighug:your help and knowledge is amazing. Always adding to "today's lesson"
It's such a relief to have this figured out. The clocks doing this darn spring ahead thing is really inconvenient for not only us but our kitties. Here's to hearing the symphony of we are starving with no food in our bowls for a couple of days

Actually, it's the other way around. What - you are feeding us early? No complaints. :cat:
Side note: I'm new to reading her BGs should 1u at these times still be sufficient or hard to say?
Did you give insulin this morning? The Units cell for this AM is blank. The spreadsheet just shows insulin given yesterday. As for dosing, it's too early to tell. Lantus is a depot insulin. All of which means it can take 5-7 days for the depot to build and for you to see what this dose is really capable of.

I did, 1 U. Just updated SS. ahh the learning process. Good to know about the Lantus, I knew it was depot insulin but have no idea on what the process of adjusting a dosage is or how to tell. Hoping to get there with more spot tests. Shooting for at least 2 more tonight. She doesn't mind SubQ or insulin injections but the tests(especially with out my spouse at work)has been an adjustment for us even with treats , a calm/favorite place and a warmed ear and flashlight for help.

I don't see you filled in the 1 unit for this morning on your spread sheet, it's still blank

It should be updated now!! Thanks for letting me know. I also have today's AMPS there as well. (Hopefully it worked)
So after all of the scheduling we went through yesterday my fiance decided he wanted to help relieve stress and do kitties shots. Well he forgot about the time change schedule i posted on the fridge and shot her at 8pm last night and this morning. Please help!! How do I adjust it now going forward so we can get back on track. I'm trying not to loose my mind. If you havent noticed I am a helicopter mom so I feel like the one time I tried to give space I made a mistake.

Shot at 8 am this morning 3/7
7:45 tonight 3/7 Saturday
The time change makes that 7:45 PM Saturday be 8:45 Sunday morning 3/8
8:30 AM shot 3/8 Sunday
8:15 PM shot 3/8 Sunday

8:00 AM shot 3/9 Monday Back on schedule

Those times are using 15 minute per cycle time changes.
