Hello Im new,
Dont know if you have many UK people on here but I want to try and change my diabetic cat over to lower carb wet food.
What do people use, are there brands I can buy in the supermarkets.
I have had a look at the janet and Binky pages but not found any I recognised.
How is the calulation for carbs done anyway?
Its all a new concept for me, but I think this is the way forward.
Would any wet food be better than dry kibbles?

Many thanks , Isaf

Hi yes found this page and link but cannot open it.
"Sorry, we were unable to find the document at the original source. Verify that the document still exists" ...and this is the mesage that comes up.

Any ideas or anywhere else I can look please?

Many thanks

Shoot. It comes up for me. You might try copying the link into your search bar rather than trying to go directly from the post? Here is the copy from a couple of posts:

I live in Switzerland and just cant find anything better than PurinaDm canned food!
The following website probably has great infomation http://binkyspage.tripod.com/nonusfd.html
...but mostly for People in the UK.

Almo Nature does exist in Switzerland but it's too expensive

Otherwise, if you live in Europe, please share the food bran you know you can feed your diabetic cat with and give us a link where we can see the numbers ourselves!

In Canada and USA there's Tiki Cat food available that I wish I could buy : http://www.petropics.com/

Got diabetes becuz of a depot-medrol injection last september. Was fed PurinaDM canned food and gave her 2 units of Caninsulin twice a day until Feb. 26th, when I started home testing her BG. She is now OTJ and eats TigerCat food

I live in Berlin, and there's a nice list that can be found here:

http://www.pfoetchenbasar.de/200-futtermarken-info/
Go to the "Katzen Nassfutterliste Stand 13.09.2011"

Please note that the list includes foods that are NOT suitable for diabetics, so be sure to look carefully at the list to see if it's for diabetics or not ("diabetikergeeignet" means suitable for diabetics). Do you speak/read German? Let me know if you need help!

I currently give my cat Leonardo brand canned food (not sure that's available in Switzerland), but I'll soon be trying a switch to Omnomnom (not seen in the list) which is also canned but is more similar to a homemade food:

Hi I live on the south coast and have changed my boy over to Felix As Good as It looks pouches in jelly, mainly the fish flavours and also Butchers Classic cans, again the fisher flavours as they are high in protein and low in carbs. Hope that helps.
