The Happy Kitty Company is now offering 6 new Granatapet flavours, (in addition to their existing flavours).

I thought I might order some but wanted to work out the carb values first. And I'm posting them here in case anyone else is feeding Granatapet. These calculations have been done using product data shown on the Happy Kitty site.

Calories from Carbs:
Turkey and pheasant, 4.4%
Venison and duck, 5.1%
Lamb and veal, 5.1%
Redfish and chicken, 5.9%
Chicken and shrimp, 7.1%
Veal and poultry, 7.2%

Phosphorous content (calculated on dry matter basis)
Phos data is given as the same for every flavour (though I don't see how that can be the case...) 1.4%

All contain some salmon oil, so not suitable for kitties with salmon allergies.

The Happy Kitty Company is here:

There is a thread in the Tech Support forum about whether it would be possible/useful to have a food forum on FDMB. (Sounds good to me!) The link to the thread is here: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/suggestion-is-it-possible-to-have-a-food-forum.132537/

Just thought it was worth a mention, the above new Granatapet in Veal & Poultry has large amounts of solid fat running through I ordered 12 tins and they were all fatty, not good for Baileys pancreatitis, his diet is mainly Granatapet, and the original flavours are fine,I rang Sam at Happy Kitty Company, she said she would take it up with the German company, other than that one flavour the food is excellent quality.

Oh, yuck, Diane! What a pain for you. I wonder if it was a wonky batch...?
I just ordered some too (but fortunately not 12 tins...... )
If my stuff is manky then I'll just have to put it out for Mr Fox (at least it'll take his mind off the neighbours' chickens and ducks who must be looking increasingly tasty in this cold weather....)

My kitties really like the Granatapet kitten food at the moment. It's chicken-based, and has around 2.2% cals from carbs. The phosphorous is decently low too at 0.8% (dry matter).

Hope you and Bailey are keeping warm in this chilly weather. Bitterly cold wind out there today...

Apparently not,my previous order of the veal/poultry was the same,I tried more as Sam said she had just received another batch in,so I won't order it again. The Symphonies chicken is the one I order the most of,and Bailey likes the Kitten Granatapet too,why don't you give her a call and ask her to swop for another flavour, the Duck/chicken is the other one I buy and that is consistently good, and the same price,so that won't alter the price on the order.
We are in the North West,Southport and the weather the last 5 days has been lovely, brilliant blue sky's,and you can feel the warmth of the sun!lets hope it is heading down south!! Have a good weekend Eliz.
