Hey all. Sorry for another boring update but thought it important to share that Monty was at 6 this morning and at 5 this evening - ON NO INSULIN for 24 hours.

Still early days but he's doing so well - especially as:

a) he's on caninsulin

b) he's on M/d diet;

c) this afternoon he properly raided the fridge by literally climbing into it and eating freshly cooked (though fortunately not too much) chicken.

Consequently, on many fronts he is a very happy cat!

Ha ha - big cat, small fridge.... if I had had my phone or camera to hand it would have made excellent You Tube fodder!! He seemed pleased with the result, however! :)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! :mrgreen: :RAHCAT :lol: dancing_cat
YOU must be so happy you can't see straight! We are looking crooked for you also.. continue on.

Fantastic!!

I never did think caninsulin always deserved the bad rap it so often gets! You have done SO well!! :mrgreen:

I bet your boy is feeling great, too!

Keep up the good work. All paws crossed for............. dare I say it?? :smile: OTJ????

Still going strong - 5 days now 'off the pop' and he's posting numbers between about 5 and 8 each day. Should these be any lower do you think or is that OK?

I would say be very content with those numbers - if you try to get him any lower you could risk giving a bit too much insulin. Just keep testing pre-shot at least.
Well done!
Diana

Looks good, Catherine! Those numbers are too low for insulin. But you could try feeding Mootle very small (but more frequent) meals to stimulate the pancreas to work but not overwhelm it while it gets stronger.

You are SO lucky!!!!
