U40 to U100

Tempestsmum kindly gave is some U100 syringes to help us more accurately measure smaller doses. I have read threads about the conversion from U40 to U100, but would just like a bit of reassurance I am right.

I am eyeballing Sam approx 0.75/ small one unit in U40. So if I use U100 syringes to give him 0.8 I would measure 2 units?

Or am I really thick???

Correct. One unit of U40 insulin in a U100 syringe would fill the U100 syringe to the 2 1/2 unit marking. For 0.8 units it would be to the 2 unit marking on the U100 syringe

Thank you that will put my mind at rest to use the U100 syringe tomorrow.
Fingers crossed it will give is a bit more accuracy.

Many, including myself, print out the conversion chart and post it on the fridge . I checked multiple times when using it lol

Me too! Lol. I'll do mental maths and then check against the chart and then looked at the drawn amount in the syringe many times before I finally shot! OCD !

Yep total OCD. And so scared I give him way too much.
Used it for the first time this morning and feels like we will be much more accurate with his smaller dose
