My sister's cat Libby was just diagnosed with FD. The vet is prescribing ProZinc. What is a good source for the U40 syringes. I usually used Lantus or Semglee for my cats, so I used U100 syringes. Also, is there any place that has a better price on ProZinc or is it very similar at different pharmacies?

U-40 syringes with half unit markings

Looks like when I googled Prozinc that are all about the same prices

Maybe just call around and see what some pharmacies charge for it

How long is a vial of ProZinc effective for? I know with U100 insulins we recommend the pens since a vial will become ineffective long before you can use all of it.

The Main Forum has this link, it can be useful, it has helped me get free syringes, "ProZinc and other supplies, it's good to take a look every now and then:bighug::cat::cat:
also this link, they are in Bouton Rouge, but it could be cheaper if you pay shipping? maybe?

From the prozinc sticky
How long will my insulin last?
  • As long as properly cared for, a vial of PZ can potentially last up to six months. If regulation is lost before then or the insulin changes color or develops particles, a new vial should be started.
  • Unopened PZ is good until the expiration date stamped on the box if refrigerated and handled properly.
