Hi Friends,

Have not posted on here in awhile. I had thyroid surgery and have not been able to update Elmo's spreadsheet but happy to report he is doing well!!

He is currently on 3 units of Wedgewood PZI,U100 compounded insulin twice daily.

I had him on Prozinc by BI but he did not do well on it.

So my problem is I have no more U100 syringes but have a many U40 syringes.

Can someone please tell me the conversion?

Thanks so much.

well, let me think...it's easier to change the other way u40 insulin to u100 syringes...i'm trying to do the math but i would cross post on health too. i'll bet back.

Each line on a U40 syringe equals 2.5U of a U100 insulin, so 3U of a U100 insulin in a U40 syringe would be 1.2 lines in a U40 syringe.

MJ, that's good...but try finding that .2 on a u40  it's more like a fatty but it would not be an exact shooting and probably best to buy new syringes and send what you currently have to the newbie kits!

Thanks that was pretty silly i did not even think to just do the opposite... but i am just going to be safe and trade syringes.

Anyone need some u40 syringes that I can trade for U100??

Thanks

yeah, the advice I've seen before is to only convert in the one direction, otherwise way too risky to overdose... not sure how many use U40 syringes - maybe try the High Dose forum? I think some may shoot even units so can easily use the U40s?
