Tyler's Repeated Low Numbers

So, despite people trying to help me, I never figured out the charts most people use here, and am not sure what an "amp", etc. is.

I rather suck at computer stuff unless someone really helps me (people here were so nice & made the form, I could just never figure out how to use them). So, I don't have that information. I do test before I shoot, try to be 11-13 hrs between doses of Lantus, and keep a written log. I will probably run a curve on my next day off. Tyler has been double well for several years since I rescued him from the pound at the 11th hour.

Now, with the disclaimers and excuses out of the way...the reason I am posting. I recently switched to shooting on the side of my Tyler's belly (from behind his neck), because I read it was more effective. I have seen multiple days where one of the readings was in the 40s (relion meter from Walmart). He wasn't acting hypo, so I fed without dosing, and he had a slightly higher number. He is eating his Fancy Feast pate, but maybe a bit less appetite than usual.

Two questions:
1. Could changing location make that big a difference?
2. Is there something else I should be concerned about, with just that info?
